Responsibility:

The main responsibility of the Turbine Mechanic – Steam and Gas – is to safely perform the installation, maintenance and repair of rotating machines mainly used in power generation applications.

Essential Function:

Read the plans, schematic drawings and technical documentation to determine the correct working procedures
Use machines and equipment according to the plans, plans and other drawings
Dismantle and assemble machinery and equipment using hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools
Carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on equipment and tools
Move machinery and equipment using hoists, cranes, chains and trucks
Align machinery and equipment using hoists, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb weights, dial indicators and / or laser alignment equipment
Perform welding and machining operations to make various pieces for laboratory and training equipment
Carry out inspections on materials and machines using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, rules, pliers, protractors and torque wrenches
Responsible for shipping and receiving all the main parts for T & DC, as well as all the costs of shipping, receiving, inventory and checking tools, equipment and consumables
Determine the equipment specifications and prepare the parts lists for purchase, consisting of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic devices, if necessary, to complete the assigned projects
Loading, transporting and unloading materials, tools, equipment and consumables
Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications:

Two years of experience required in the maintenance, disassembly and installation of machinery and industrial service equipment, including various pumps, motors, fans, generators and turbines (Gas and Steam)
Experience in aligning equipment using laser or traditional methods
Preferred knowledge of written and spoken English
Willingness to travel and be away from home for long periods of time
Ability to work independently independently and in a team
